Since her feet were generally clad in gripper socks, they really weren’t very calloused or rough but, man, as her caregiver, mine were!
Regardless, Mom always loved a good foot massage (don’t we all?). I found this Pedi-Scrub Foot Buffer at Walmart one day and bought it mostly for the aromatherapy. I knew that it would greatly enhance the experience of Mom’s next foot massage – and it did!
After setting Mom up in the living room with her feet soaking in a small bowl of water, I pulled out this foot scrubber and slowly and gently rubbed it on her feet. The scent the thing released was just heavenly! Mom loved it and so did I when I used the thing in my own bath later that night.
Not only is this foot scrubber a nice, inexpensive gift for a senior citizen, if you know a caregiver, surprise him or her with one as a ‘just because’ present. What a nice way to lend your support to those caring for the elderly.
There’s also some very nice foot cream that I’ve added to this post. Smooth a little on your elderly loved one’s tootsies before putting on a warm pair of gripper socks. They’ll love you forever.
